Just Think Toys Bath Blocks Review And Giveaway

24 Nov

My 3 year old grandson, J.T. loves to build with blocks.  He is also a strange little child and loves to take baths.  Up until now, it was difficult to combine his two loves because his building blocks were not made for tub use and just sank to the bottom and frustrated him.  I have bought him ” tub blocks” in the past and they never live up to their promise , that is until I found Just Think Toys Bath Blocks

I received the 13 piece Ball Run set with a reusable storage bag. I love having this reusable, plastic bag as we can easily put away his blocks without a mess at all and the bag can hang from the water spout awaiting the next bath time.  This set is made from a bacteria and mildew resistant EVA and contains absolutely no phthalates or PVC.  I love that they will be safe for him to use over and over again in his bath time routine.

Each piece, once wet, will stick to each other and the walls of the tub sort of like a magnet and makes for much easier play for him. The viscosity of the water with added soap or bubbles makes them easily adhere to each other for easier play. It is also a learning experience as he chose which block would work where ( geometry) and counted the blocks he added and took away ( addition, subtraction). He had a blast playing with these blocks.  His imagination ran wild as he built a batman cave and a fire station.  This set comes with a ball so that he can create a ball run with the pressure of the water.  He loved it and laughed so hard as the ball was pushed around his creation.

I love toys that are not only fun for him but allow him to be creative and this set does just that.  It is easy for him to use, allowed him to use his imagination and have fun all at the same time. The only problem we had was trying to get him out of the tub even after the water started getting cold, he just didn’t want to stop playing with them.  I took the blocks out of the tub and dried them off so he could take them to the living room to keep playing. He sat in the floor for over an hour before bedtime , creating anything his mind could come up with.  When he went home with his mom, the blocks went too as he said ” Nana I bring dem back next time.”

Educational toys do not have to be complicated and sometimes the easiest toy can teach the biggest lessons. I try, whenever I have him, to work on numbers and colors and such but most of the time he gets bored easily and wants to do something else. I noticed when we did these things using the blocks, he was more apt to want to work with me. I would hand him a block to use and ask him the color and he would tell me. After he built his masterpiece and was ready to try another, I would have him count the blocks as he removed them and he liked doing it this way.
