Ultimate decadence: 18 layer red velvet cake

Imagine making this indulgence for your Holiday guests!!

Betty Crocker  18 layer red velvet cake recipe

Ingredients: white cake

1 box of White cake mix 
1 and 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs

Ingredients Red velvet cake

1 box of german chocolate cake mix
1 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 bottle red liquid food coloring

Frosting:

2 and 1/2 cups marshmallow cream ( from 2 7oz jars)
1 and 1/2 cups butter softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 to 2 tbs milk
4 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar


Step 1

Heat oven to 350  spray 3   8 in round cake pans and line bottom of each pan with parchment paper

Step 2

In a Large bowl mix white cake ingredients  on low for 30 seconds.  then on medium speed for two minutes. cover and refrigerate. 

step 3

In another large bowl, mix red velvet ingredients  same as step 2

step 4

spread 1/2  cup red velvet batter  in the bottom of all pans cook 8 minutes or until fork comes out clean.

Step 5

for next layer spread 1/2 cup white cake batter over red velvet layer and bake 8 to 10 minutes or until fork comes out clean.

Repeat steps 4 and five til  pan filled

Once layers are done, remove cakes from pans and remove parchment paper.

In a large bowl  mix frosting ingredients and mix until fluffy. Make sure you spread some frosting between layers and cover entire cake. Refrigerate 45 minutes before serving.
